Each year Franklin County Soil & Water Conservation District holds an annual tree and shrub sale.

The trees and shrubs are very reasonable priced, and in limited quantities. Orders are taken January-April. To help ensure that you get what you would like for plants, we encourage you to place your order before March 1st. Orders for left over items will be taken through Friday, May 2nd.

Pre-Order Pick-up has been moved to May 10th, still to be held in the white barn behind the Farmington Office at 107 Park Street, Farmington. After 1 pm on that day, any remaining plants will be sold at ten percent over cost.

If you would like a brochure mailed to you, please send a self-addressed envelope with 58 cents postage to FCSWCD, 107 Park St., Farmington, ME 04938,. Or you may stop by the office to place an order or to pick up a brochure.

We offer fruit trees, such as, peach, pear and plum, as well as a variety of apple trees. You will find we have fir, hemlock, spruce, maple and walnut trees, along with other conifers. We also offer a selection of berry bushes, as well as, flowering shrubs, such as, lilacs, Rugosa roses, forsythia, hydrangea, snowball bush, Weigela, and a variety of other perennials.

If you would like us to try to offer a particular item, contact us between May and August of 2008 and we will attempt to order the item for our 2009 Shrub Sale.

Return Policy:

If your plant shows no signs of life by July 15,bring in a copy of the order form, along with the freshly dug plant. You will be asked to sign a statement saying your item was kept watered and was planted within 24 hours of the pick-up date, May 9th. If your plant was not picked up by the end of Friday, May 9, all warranties are null and void. Dig up the item just prior to bringing it in to the office on July 15. We will only refund your money for plants that never started to root (show signs of life.)
